Performance Analysis of IoT-Based Overlay Satellite-Terrestrial Networks Under Interference

In this paper, we consider an overlay satellite-terrestrial network (OSTN) where opportunistically selected terrestrial internet-of-things (IoT) assists the primary satellite communications as well accesses spectrum for its own under hybrid interference received from extra-terrestrial sources (ETSs) and (TSs). Herein, IoT adopts power-domain multiplexing to amplify-and-forward superposed signals. Considering a unified analytical framework shadowed-Rician fading with integer/non-integer Nakagami-\emph{m} parameter interfering ETSs links along TSs links, derive outage probability (OP) of both networks. Further, respective asymptotic OP expressions reveal diversity order networks two conditions, namely when transmit power interferers: $(a)$ remains fixed; $(b)$ varies proportional powers main users. We show that proposed OSTN adaptive power-splitting factor benefits while guaranteeing certain quality-of-service (QoS) network. verify numerical results by simulations.
